DDPLAN is a demonstration of Professor Buhlmanns algorithm with Erik Bakers gradient factor deep stop algorithm. It's intended to be used by experienced technical SCUBA divers as an supplemental aid to existing dive planning methods and software.
As far as I can tell, it's a mathematically correct implementation of Buhlmanns algorithm with Erik Bakers gradientfactor extensions, however without independent verification and validation, it's impossible to be sure.
Other than using Bakers gradient factors, there is NO additional built-in conservatism to the standard Buhlmann algorithm.
Use this software at your own risk.
People have experienced DCI (the ``bends'') when diving to Buhlmanns tables (or with wrist-mounted computers which use Buhlmanns algorithm) and there are no guarantees that you won't get bent if you were to dive a profile which DDPLAN had generated.
If you do not fully understand what DDPLAN is doing then DO NOT USE DDPLAN to help you plan your dives. Even if you do use DDPLAN, there are no guarantees that you'll survive intact.
If you are prepared to accept responsibilities for your own actions then DO NOT use DDPLAN on it's own, but use it in conjunction with other proven methods of dive planning. Use it as one tool of many in your dive planning and preparation process.
If you are not willing to accept responsibility for your own actions then do not use DDPLAN.
DDPLAN is free. It comes with no guarantees or warranty. In this world, you get what you pay for.
